Topic of Study: Panampilly Govinda Menon: A Freedom Fighter and an Administrator of Cochin State. The study was done under the guidance of Prof. P.D. Johny, Former Head of the Department of History, Union Christian College, Aluva.
As the topic affirms, rather than a biographical study, the thesis delves into the intellectual traverse of Menon and brings forth his unparalleled legacies towards his mother country. A broad investigation into the significant contributions of Panampilly Govinda Menon, the thesis highlights his exertions and efforts towards the freedom movement of the erstwhile states of Cochin and Thiru-Kochi and his phenomenal role in restructuring the state of Kerala in the initial years of independence. The work also makes an inquiry into the farsighted work done by Menon as a Parliamentarian and a Union Minister. As the Union Minister with different port folios Menon brought forth prophetic suggestions and pragmatic remedies for various issues. A patriotic diplomat representing India at several international conferences Menon retained the dignity of his mother country. Encompassing the literary and intellectual discourses, articles and critiques of Menon the study makes an extensive examination of his vision. The study intends to shed light on the legacies of the veteran politician, orator, writer and diplomat as well as to document some of the relevant episodes in the history of the state and the country.
