Jenee Peter was nominated as Member of the Expert Committee of the prestigious Muziris Heritage Project (MHP). She is a member of the Committee on CheramanActivity Centre cum Archaeology Museum since January 2016. MHP is managed by the Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala and is a novel project of cultural resources management through sustainable and responsible tourism.
The first phase of the Project was inaugurated by the President of India Shri. Pranab Mukherjee at the Muziris Convention Centre, Kodungallur on 26th February 2016. Jenee Peter represented UCC Archaeological Museum at this high protocol event.
On the same day the Muziris Exhibition was inaugurated by the Minister for Tourism Shri A.P AnilKumar. The Museum at UCC had associated with the exhibition in its conceptual phase.
The Department of History has been part of the Muziris Heritage Project since 2010. This is the second time Jenee Peter has been nominated as a Committee member. Earlier she had been the Convenor of Kottapuram Fort, Market and Museum Committee. This Committee initiated the excavations at Kottapuram fort and later she served as archaeological consultant in MHP.
