Dr. Jenee Peter was awarded a PDF in Ancient and Medieval Indian History/ Archaeology by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Archaeological Research at Ashoka University, New Delhi. The title of her project is Reconsidering the role of agriculture during Iron Age in South India: Interdisciplinary Field Approaches.

Ashoka is a private university established in 2004 providing liberal education at par with the best in the world to 4500 plus students on campus, drawn from 30 states in India and 27 other countries with programmes led by internationally renowned faculty.

The duration of the fellowship is from 1st of August, 2022 through 31th of July, 2023, with the possibility of renewal .  The fellowship is aimed at encouraging field research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and documentation of archaeological remains and museum collections I will be under the supervision of Professor Nayanjot Lahiri and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Archaeological Research. She will receive a consolidated research grant of INR 3,00,000 for one academic year. Fellows are expected to publish an article on the work they undertake during the fellowship and interact with the Ashoka community.
