About the dark times.

History department association day, the culmination of all its activities of the year 2019- 20, started off proudly in rainbow hue. The day was named ‘irundakalathinte paattukal’ and the theme was “pride” precisely because we are now living in an age of great injustice. Amidst the darkness and agony where people are yearning for resistance, survival and retaliation the History Association emphasized on the necessity to raise our voices and leave our mark of resistance, in these trying times.

2019-20 academic year’s History Day was celebrated on  Saturday 7 March 2010. The curtain raisers and precursor events began  at the beginning of the week. The inaugural ceremony began with the humming of  Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s “hum dekhenge” marking and remembering the spirit of all the difficult paths we’ve overcome with resistance and defiance.  After lunch, the  celebrations continued with beautiful colours, music, movements and chatter. Lighting of the lamps preceded the events and trees were distributed to the graduating batches to be planted in the college campus.
