Fresher’s Program – Cogito Ergo Sum
The Department of History organized its Fresher’s Program, titled Cogito Ergo Sum, for the postgraduate batch of 2025–27 on 22 August 2025 in the Department Reading Room from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. The program was a small and simple gathering, marked by a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The event began with a dance performance by the second-year M.A. History students, followed by a welcome address by Adila Shereen V. U., with the comparing done by Alby Achamma Binu. The juniors participated enthusiastically, appearing in costumes as film characters of their choice and presenting a lively dance performance. Seniors also organized games for the juniors, creating moments of interaction and enjoyment.
The faculty members — Dr. Jenee Peter (Head of the Department), Dr. Hanu G. Das, Dr. Twincy Varghese, Dr. Shela Mary Varghese, Ms. Tresa Divya T. J., and Mr. Abhilash Augustine — graced the occasion and addressed the students with words of encouragement. Snack boxes were distributed, and the program concluded with a vote of thanks by Liya Sarah Jacob, followed by a group photograph with teachers and students.
The event, arranged collectively by the senior students, reflected the department’s spirit of togetherness and provided the juniors with a warm welcome into the M.A. History family.
