CENTENARY ERUDITE LECTURE SERIES – 4
Fourth session of the Erudite Lecture Series organized by the Post graduate and Research Department of History; Union Christian College was held on 31st October 2020. Prof. Pius Malekandathil, Professor at Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, delivered the lecture on the topic: Maritime History of India Historiographical and Methodological Issues.
Traversing through different sub themes in the study of maritime history and introducing several key publications of the area Prof. Pius narrated in detail how maritime activities influenced human life, migration and ideology of a particular region. The session, attended by academicians and students from various parts of the country, was very informative and proved to be beneficial for students as well as research enthusiasts in the area.
